Well my kids last day at their old school was cancelled today due to wicked weather. It's like a snow globe out now and it's gorgeous. I attempted to capture that look with Emily looking out the window at it (but you can't so much see the snow). You can see her disappointment in her face in that she had to miss saying goodbye to her teachers and friends.
But snow days are pretty cool, too, except that we are packing.
So hard to take a photo against a window! This is fantastic and so very whimsical! Her little profile is gorgeous!
So sorry about the snow day! Maybe the kids can write a note and mail to their classes to say goodbye!
Too bad they were not able to say goodbye. Maybe they can make cards for each of their teachers or send a photo that you take to their teacher and classes. Love this photo, Amanda. FAV
This is just beautiful Amanda - you have captured her emotions perfectly and I just love the tree through the window! Sorry to hear they missed their last day at school and the chance to say their goodbyes! There will soon be lots of new "hellos" for them though! : ) fav
@jo13 She is totally LOVING her new school. My girl is so dramatic and full of emotion. She wasn't even trying to look sad here. I just thought oh she looks so sad and then described what happened that day. Thanks for your kindness, Jo!!
Emily and I really appreciate the heck out of all of the sweet comments and faves. This was my best received portrait yet and that makes me so happy. Love that it is of my Em. My drama queen. It's funny, when I uploaded and saw her looking sad I was disappointed, but then it totally fit the mood of the day. By the way, she is LOVING her new school. So sorry for being so far behind and absent. Life sure had it's way of getting nutty for me at the end of the year. Hugs!
@tonydebont That really meant a lot to me, Tony. Thank you so much for your great comments:)!
But a beautiful shot capturing the emotion. Stay safe.
