This serious fella was pretty close to the nose picking one that I featured last week. I think he was disgusted by his friend's behavior. Or maybe angry at his predicament for being confined to a zoo.
Their expressions really captivate me and I could really spend a long time just watching them. Watching their faces and their hands at work.
I can relate to this gorilla. Either I am really serious...or a monkey. Sometimes no in between. And sometimes it seems that I mostly live on the serious side. Wish it were easier to monkey around more for me.
This is some wonderful processing. They are so human like poor things stuck in the zoo. I can just see us on the other side of the bars with them watching us. Isn't this site wonderful for letting your monkey side shine bright? lol
Your photo does this dignified gorilla justice. I have been unhappy with most of my gorilla shots because frankly, they just always seem so disgruntled about being on display.
Awesome !!---I see a lot of this everyday in my "hood"-hA:)--sometimes they're grumpy but most of the times they like monkeying 'round, specially when "HIGH" !!-nice shot and fav:)
Wonderful image and processing. Their expressions are so full of emotion and definitely captivating. I also wish sometimes that life was more laughs and less worries :-). Fav
Amazing expression, so humanlike which isn't really surprising I suppose. Great shot and processing Amanda. I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself regarding your lack of monkeying around - from your pics I would say you definitely appear to monkey around more than most!! Fav. Ps Loved Joy's comment! @jocasta
this is a beautiful capture of one of my favourites - he is much safer in the zoo at the moment with poachers and deforestation threatening their survival - I often watch the ones here for ages during my frequent zoo visits

I also love watching them - until they gross me out. But they are so very much us.
@bill_fe Aw, thank you. PPs are few and far between for me.
