I feel like my new yard is the yard that keeps giving. We moved in in the late fall, close to winter when everything was dead. It has been amazing to see everything turn green for the first time and recognize some of my favorite spring blooming trees, flowers pushing up, etc.
This was my most recent surprise...we have a cone flower or echinacea growing in our yard. LOVE these blooms. We had peonies, too. It's like one thing blooms out and another takes it's place. Loving all of the surprises and joyful color.
Helps make up for the issues that I am dealing with with my shooting eye. Remember the eye infection a couple weeks back? Well now I am left with a lash imbedded in the eye. Went to the doc yesterday, and with a swab and with tweezers poking and prodding IN MY EYE, he couldn't get it out. I need to see a specialist and maybe get it cut out. It's rather scary, the thought of getting one's eye cut. Praying all goes well, it can be removed relatively easily and that my vision and let's face it, my eye, isn't much affected. Also, I wouldn't mind having to wear an eye patch for a bit, truth be told. My birthday is coming up in a few days and I could have a pirate themed party! Argh.
just oh so pretty. my other half has had eye surgery (well he has had a cornea graft so pretty major surgery...) I know as a wife how scary it is to be facing that so really hoping all okay for you.
@fauxtography365 Not permanently, but how kinda weird funky would it be to remember my 38th birthday as the year I was a pirate. Trying to make the best of it, I guess. thanks, friend!!!
Instant fav on this beautiful shot with that fabulous bokeh. Whoa! I never heard of a lash actually being imbedded in the eye to where it can't be removed fairly easily. I hope the specialist is able to do it "in the blink of an eye" so you can avoid an eye patch on your b-day. :-)
Ouuuuuch! My dad was an eye doc and the one time he had to do something for my eye I felt like he put his fist in it and twisted my eyelid. He did not, of course, but it's always a bit of a shock. I hope you get some relief soon. Lovely flower shot!
@riverlandphotos The doc told me yesterday that I was moving away from him. Well duh, you are coming at my eye with sharp pointy objects. I was imagining myself sneezing or twitching and becoming blinded. Ugh. Your story sounds awful, too.
Eek...scary thing with your eye and here's hoping things go smoothly in this next round. The photo, on the other hand, needs no help -- beautifully done!
You definitely are a cup half full person - with the thought of impending eye surgery you manage to see the plus side of a pirate party. Poor you - horrid thought of surgery.
Gorgeous flower and bokehliscious.
Such a lovely capture - Fav for me. And hoping all goes well with your eye - I had to laugh about the doctor commenting that you were moving away from him...really, doc???
I'm sure your eye will be restored to full function. Years ago I had a piece of metal imbedded in my eye. You'll get to wear an eye-patch for real.
Trust all goes well.
Beautiful bokeh... love the coneflower/echinacea.....good for healing....mostly for colds!! Pirate themed party sounds fabulous! Once, my former kitty, Lambchop, tried to pet me in the face, and ended up scratching my cornea with her claw! Yep, it was painful, had to wear an eyepatch, but I survived, and you probably will, too!! Bummer, though....:-(
