My Normal Rockwell Snow Globe Life by alophoto

My Normal Rockwell Snow Globe Life

How's this for a view of the house and the kids playing out front as the snow came down the other day? I always am reminded of a snow globe when I see it snowing hard like this.

The snow is almost melted now, but when I think of this time, this moment, this peek into my Normal Rockwell life in a snow globe, I am thankful. Sometimes I realize my blessing more than other. Sometimes, I can grumble. We are getting ready to host Thanksgiving and as we prepare and clean I look around and see our old school TV, our hand me down, miss matched furniture, the piles and piles of clutter (kids artwork, school papers, etc.). But then, I look around at my 3 healthy children, my wonderful healthy marriage, the fact that we have enough food to eat, a lovely roof over our heads, heat in our home, two cars that work most of the time, heck, I even have a pretty nice camera and time to play with a passion and hobby of mine. We are abundantly blessed, so what if we don't have the best stuff? This here, this peek at my life...this is the best stuff.

(best viewed on black so you can see the three kids in the midst of playing:)
lovely snowy scene

FAV!!!! Beautiful home and super fab capture of "Winter Wonderland"....I can relate to mismatched furniture and clutter b/c I am a shabby chic fan and save everything!! Plus am one of those who keeps everything until it dies. Anyway, I love the whole setting and will pin. You certainly are blessed to be sure.

A definite Norman Rockwell shot and a fav. So early in the year - not even winter yet! And the possessions we own or do not own mean nothing. They are, at most, the frosting on top of the icing on the cake. The things that mean everything are our relationships with others and our health. You have that in abundance!

You truly are blessed and more blessed than I will ever be; I can´t have children but that´s okey, I have accepted it as part of my life....I don´t have the the marriage either, I´m divorced actually ....that´s cool too cos life is better on my own, I only hope I can someday find love again. There is always something to be thankful for. The best way that I know to keep myself in the "sweet" spot is to say "Thank You" every day to my Creator. You are blessed that you realize your blessings!

Fav A wonderful capture of a winter wonderland !
November 21st, 2014
What a gorgeous Winter Wonderland, Amanda. Love seeing this photo with the black background and your kids. I love the snow as it makes a fabulous photo with those huge trees you have surrounding your house. You make all of us think. We are so lucky to have what we have and thankful to have food and a roof over our heads. Inside is cluttered and furniture that needs to be replaced eventually. It is home however you look at it though. FAV

How gorgeous, looks like a story book winter wonderland! You are very wise to be able to count your blessings... There is always someone worse off than ourselves and I have to pull myself up sometimes and see how fortunate I am too.

November 21st, 2014
Amanda, you've captured the blessings of a happy and healthy life together so clearly. It's a gorgeous scene, but it's the people and histories behind this scene that make it so special. A fav for that!

Sue
Lovely scene! Looks beautiful, but then I don't have to live with the cold.
November 22nd, 2014
Isn't it beautiful when the trees are covered like this in snow? But then those poor people who live in and around the Buffalo, NY area might think otherwise.
November 22nd, 2014
This is a wonderful view into your life.....it really does look like a snow globe idyllic, magical scene in a faraway land, and yet, it is your house, and it is your life, and it is good, and as you enter into the warmth of your own home with your own loving family, that is the only thing that matters! I am FAVing and saving this so that I can go back and look at the wonderful life that you have made captured inside a snowglobe for eternity!! :-))) Happy Holidays!
November 22nd, 2014

November 25th, 2014
@susale You are sweet, my friend. Thank you for your kind words. In sharing the ways that I am blessed, it doesn't mean that that is the only way to be blessed. Sorry if I come across as braggy or in a ways that is unbecoming. Love that you are happy with where you are and do pray that you find love someday again. Love that doesn't make you want to burn the roses but to smell their sweet smell again. Hugs to you!!!
November 25th, 2014
@amandal Thank you Amanda for your consideration& prays, you should feel blessed and there is nothing wrong telling the world how blessed you are, no way was it taken in any other way than that. Thank you for you kind words, I am closed for love still but someday I´ll be open again and then I´ll trust that the love will find me, things have a way to find their way and I have a lot of faith in that.
November 25th, 2014
@susale When I least wanted and was not looking for love is when it found me. My husband was done with women and not ready for love when we found each other. Thanks, lady. Glad it was received ok:).
November 25th, 2014
@amandal Yes life has a way of suprising us sometimes:) And yes of course, I´m always happy to know that people are happy and I´m happy for them, I´m not bitter in any way, life is too short for that and we have to make the most of what we got.
November 25th, 2014
How wonderful. Yes it is so easy to look at the negatives but it is so much healthier to look at the blessings, health and happiness is far superior to wealth! You are amazing! Fav
November 26th, 2014
