Gosh, I love a change in seasons. They are so distinctly different and incredibly beautiful here, each one of them. I grew up without seasons...it was pretty hot and humid all year long in Florida. The leaves didn't do any fall show and those that changed just got brown and fell off. That was normal to me.
I moved to a place with seasons 10 years ago...for the first time, I experience fall and spring color. I was in awe. And then almost 3 years ago, we moved to Ohio where we get an even more intense fall and spring and snow in the winter, too. Not much usually, but enough for the kids to have a few weeks of play in the pretty white stuff. What a cool way to grow up! I love playing in the snow, too, making up for my years without.
I do get tired of some parts of the seasons...it's the gray that really gets to me in the winter. My friend heard that it is 80% gray here in the winter. I believe that. This week has been gray every single day. Dreary and cold. Not pretty. It does give me the blues. But when the sun comes out, cracks through the gray...I come alive.
I think the seasonal beauty is worth the gray days. I'll pop my vitamin D, drink lots of hot drinks, look at my photos and wait for the sun to shine again.
Happy weekend. Hope yours is beautiful and filled with sunshine and blue skies!
@tremerryn Thanks so much...hoped to do just that. I had a New England Cape Cod beach photo that I debated using for summer, but that is not here, so I went with all OH photos. All home.
Fantastic set of images and wonderful expression of your environment. I enjoy the temperate climate here but envy your Autumn colours and the fresh snow. Fav
Superb collage Amanda. Each shot is beautiful and together they make a good story. The gloom at this time of year gets to me too - Last year I bought a SAD therapy light for such days. It helped.
I just realized it was your leaf picture that inspired my leaf picture. I could remember seeing a leaf in the grass picture but I couldn't recall whose it was.
LOVE the 4 Seasons and the singers too!! LOL I grew up in Minnesota and Alaska. We had all 4 seasons, some just lasted longer than others, like the COLD season!!! Yes, the SNOW season also, but then I moved here to Georgia and we get all the seasons also, but more of the HOT season which Iove. We do get Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, we even get snow every 6 to 10 years!!! I wouldn't want to live any where else. I do love Spring the most and your Pink Dogwood is just gorgeous!!! Love the summer sunflower and fall leaves, but will surely pass on the cold of winter!!! Even though it is beautiful!! I love your collage and all the memories it brings with it!! FAV!
Each picture is beautiful in its own right, but all together, they're a wonderful representation of your seasons. I too appreciate the different seasons and the excitement and opportunities that come with each one.
Beautiful shots. And a great idea. We have gone from one extreme to another. Just now feels like fall in NC. I don't think they have winter and spring starts in Feb, so I think I'll enjoy this year much better than last where fall started in Aug., winter in Sept., Spring in April....and summer, not sure they had one! LOL!
Thank you all...so appreciate all of your lovely comments and faves on this collage. Gosh I love the change in seasons. Still much grayness around here. I had a sunny day over the weekend and did a happy dance:).
@bill_fe It was a fun surprise!! Thanks, Bill. I'd wanted a double TT for awhile and it didn't seem possible. Glad I finally got it. Now I can quit while I am ahead;-).
What a beautiful collage! Another FAV from me....somebody who does not get much in the way of seasons these days! I think we have Sunny, Less Sunny, More Sunny, Very Very Sunny.....
