Anyone who knows me, knows that I am NOT bashful about the selfie.
This was a quick snap while I was out shooting snowflakes on my car windows the other day. I always find it interesting seeing photographers in action, so here you go.:)
Today I take that same car, the one we bought only a month ago, into the shop. It was used and it had one issue we knew of, but we are discovering more now. Wish we had been more thorough when we were looking at it. Nothing hugely serious, but possibly expensive to fix door issues. One door doesn't open easily and it will only lock manually.
Ha - fun shot, and yes, you're right, it is always interesting to watch other photographers in action. I was watching a film the other day where a young guy was out in the crowds and shooting people. I cringed thinking about how invading he was being, and then realised... hey, I do that very thing! LOL
Cars - never simple, are they. We bought a used car too, and it's been nothing but one little hassle after another. Oh well, live 'n learn. Can't afford brand new, so we just make do, I'm afraid. Hope yours doesn't cost you too much.
My kind of selfie, sorry to hear about the car hope it can be fixed unlike my daughters car that lasted her 3 months .... she broke down ...... Then only to find out it needed a new engine...... So car now scrapped and now she has a Volkswagen UP on lease so she is very happy now
@arobertson It's gotten to where freezing temps aren't so cold. It's when it gets below freezing. That is cold. We can totally handle the weather here. It's fairly mild.
@jocasta Actually, these are those kind. I should have worn it that way. 2 layers. When I wear them in extreme cold, the tips of my fingers freeze in the one layer.
I have tried taking photos with mittens/gloves and with the ones with the tips cut off but my fingers always freeze! I need some that have wifi warmers and fit skin tight!! LOL Great selfie and love the snow falling around you!! Sorry about the car woes!!! FAV!
Sounds as if your car has been in an accident and got fixed but not quite! That door problem. Looking at your photo, what would we do if we didn't have our forefinger?
very cool reflection ..... sorry to hear about the car maybe they can fix it while you're gone or do you get a loaner? If it's not one thing it's another.
I love your photo, Amanda. Looks so cold. I hope your car is ok and does not cost you too much to have it fixed. My window decided to not go down any longer and last time on another car cost us $700 so not getting it fixed now anyways.
Wonderful selfie! (I made a similar one--only I was indoors at the time). Something about the bokeh gives it the feel of an "Action" shot and, as others have said, I have the feeling of being watched. Tap...tappiing on my computer screen: "Hey, Amanda are you in there?"
@amandal Hmm! About the same time a bought a 10 year old Toyota, a real beauty in good condition but there is an issue with warning lights on the dash which sometimes come on when nothing is wrong. Under warranty I've taken it back 3 times and each time I have been given a courtesy car.. all for free. (3 different 2014 models hardly used and I have hated them all - nowhere near as good as the old car!)

Great shot; hope you get things worked out car wise as inexpensively as possible.
