I laid down on a strangers driveway to get this shot. To any one of us, I'd have looked completely normal and maybe a little hardcore. To the general population, I'd have appeared a freak. I'm ok with that.
But oh, their crocuses...a field of them. I had to get low. I had to lay down. It had to be done.
Glad that spring is very nearly here...and feeling like it.
@seanoneill Maybe early? I am more desperate for it this year. Thank you!!! No flowers in my yard yet and the trees are still brown, but starting to show signs of buds. A couple more weeks and we will be abloom. Can't wait!
True story: As I was scrolling down my home page, I come across your beautiful springtime shot and then read the first sentence. I swear, before I even scrolled down far enough to see who posted it, my first thought was "That reminds me of Amanda. "
This is a stunning shot. I'm glad Spring is springing where you are.

This is such a beautiful shot and worth laying down for. I love the colors and detail you captured, Amanda. I think it is Daffodil time here and we need to head to Daffodil Hill as I have never been there before. FAV
@amandal I cut and pasted it in a PM on FB for you to see. You are very welcome. I have to calendar Daffodil Hill for next February. It closed a bit early last year too. They said we had the warmest March since 1979. Since Dan and I were married in May of 1979 and it was pouring the week before and rained a bit on our wedding day and there was a blizzard in Tahoe, there is hope for something more than warm dry days here.
Prone position is a must!! Just look at this photo and you can tell!!! For a long time I couldn't lay dow or even squat, so I had to ben over and that is NOT a pretty sight, especially when you block the sun from others. Now I am able to get prone and everyone is happy!! Love this worm's eye view of the crocus and how you can see the little yellow centers reaching for the sky!!! Gorgeous lighting and color!!! FAV!
@bill_fe I had a similar shot up a few days ago...sue me;-). I just LOVE this time of year and it is only starting here. No buds on the trees yet. When is your spring? In CA ours started in Jan and Feb.
@amandal My play opened last night and today was the first day I was able to spent outside (till yesterday most of the day I was locked up in a dark theatre) and it was such a joy to see the spring (and the ecplipse as well) and YOUR PICTURE! Thank you!
@amandal Of course it's a joke. I'm going to a bonfire / potluck at a county park about 15 miles north. I'll take a hike in the woods and see if I can find any signs of spring.
This is a stunning shot. I'm glad Spring is springing where you are.
