This is my girl, Emily. If I had to pick a word to describe her, it would be intense. Intensity would be a funny name for my monkey in the middle.
She doesn't just lightly blow the dandelion fluff away...she puckers up and blows hard, with great big trumpet playing cheeks. She gets the job done.
I had other shots of this, but I liked the cheeks and comp here best.
Speaking of trumpet playing, my son, Lucas signed up for band next year. Trumpet is his second choice for instrument. Hope he gets his first choice of bells (like a xylophone). Can you imagine listening to trumpet practice in the house?!
Oh and Emily inspired me to blow the fluff and make a wish..."Let him get bells, let him get bells!!"
;-)
It felt good to do this again...young and fun and free.
A fav for me, for the adorable capture and the write up. Do the young and fun and free thing as often as you can (I'm very close to a milestone birthday - I think that needs to be my motto for the next decade)
@linnypinny I'm pushing the birthday where I will want to hold at for the rest of my life. Though maybe I hold at 5-10 years ago. Darn aging:). Thank you!!!
@amandal Each decade has just gotten better for me, but I was hoping to fly under the radar on this one...don't think that's going to happen, as my future captures will show...
Aww very sweet. Don't worry if it ends up being the trumpet - it's not as bad as you might think and definitely easier on the ear than a beginner violinist!
what a wonderful capture and write up. I'm waiting for my dandelions to turn to this. Hoping to get some macro shots this year. I am so old that I don't want to talk about it ...shhhh
What a wonderful portrait! I love her intensity.....how exciting to see them all developing their own personalities! And, yes, I think you will have your hands full with little Emily when she grows up!
I recently celebrated the 37th anniversary of my 29th birthday, no more holding required. ;-)
