This is a kid ripping it at the Flow Rider...a special wave pool at the back of the cruise ship on the sports deck for surfing and boogie boarding. This guy was one of the better ones and was even in the contest for the title of best. Mike got up and rocked it, too. Me, I was too chicken to lose a contact or worse my suit in front of a crowd. Maybe next time.
A perfect title and a great "surfing" image. Nice colors. Amazing how almost every natural activity can be done artificially now. I think surfing should be done in the ocean, but that's just me.
@soboy5 Yes, but there are no sharks on board. This was a cool way to kill time on a ship. We had 3 full days at sea with time to kill. Now I wish I did it.
@amandal No sharks - lol. The trick is you have to surf faster than the sharks swim :) Maybe I am old school, but I learned to surf in the ocean on a real surfboard. Back when men were men...
Wonderful action shot....that thing is not easy.....there is a place here nearby where they have the Wave House.....I have watched kids do it, and it just ain't easy!
