We missed the bus to the whirlpool and decided to walk. It was only one bus stop down. But it was in the blazing heat of the day, there was no breeze or shade.
After a longish walk, we arrived...at the whirlpool. This is a famous place in the whitewater rapids of the Niagara River where there is a...whirlpool. This is so very famous that they have a gondola thingy that takes people over the river to observe the whirlpool raging below.
We just went to the viewing area and thought, "That's it?! This is the whirlpool! Whoopie!" I guess the heat and walking made us cynical.
This shot is SOOC, though and it turned out to be one of my favorites from the trip ironically, because, come on, it's just a whirlpool.
I'll show you the McDonalds like gondola in my other album. Maybe they are all saying, "That's it?!" too? Wonder how much they paid to see...the whirlpool?!
It has beautiful patterns in the water and the colors are pretty but I can imagine a hot walk with children in tow made it a less than dramatic vision for you. Still it seems to be very powerful water. It looks like the wake from a boat on a river.
