I'd booked a great B&B for the night, over 400 year old, low beams and plenty of charactor.. Kept bashing my head though...lol
After a really tasty full English breakie, we headed to Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast where you can wonder along the beach and find fossils wherever you look...
Then it was onto Salisbury where we stopped off at Salisbury Cathedral. Probably the best Cathedral in Britain. It was built in the 1280s or so and has the highest steeple of any Cathedral in Britain. It truly is magnificent and this pic does not do it justice.
Like I said, not the best shot, but this is from a side cloister which doubles as a cafe and was taken as we enjoyed a delish cream tea - scone, clotted cream and jam... Mmmmmm... uploaded this pic as a reminder of a lovely cream tea :-)
Then we went to see the best preserved copy of the magna carta, written in 1215.. Really very interesting (no pics allowed in there tho). Especially the bit my girlfriend pointed out which said a man cannot force a woman into marriage.. I had to point out, it only referred to widows... not single woman or divorcees...lol...
Enjoyed a really lovely weekend. Will upload more to shutterfly tomorrow.
Wonderful shot of this beautiful cathedral. Went to Old Sarum a couple of years ago, and then on to see the Salisbury Cathedral. Just gorgeous. Didn't get a cream tea out of it, though. Ha!
