The surprise warmth and glorious sunny weather of Wednesday has been turned on his head today, replaced with a hard, cold wind and dark leaden skies. It looks as if we are in for some miserable weather over the next few days.
I took this photo, once again at Coalhouse Fort, Tilbury, of what I think (according to a small map nearby) is the remains of a 400 year old river station. Although the Thames looks quite smooth, don't be fooled. The wind was howling and further out towards mid-river, it was very choppy.
I think this may suit a long exposure shot but only had my P&S so may need to revisit with SLR and tripod one evening...
Finished jury service today so it's back to the mundane on Monday. As for the case, we found the accused guilty of actual bodily harm - he'd knocked out his neighbour in a noise dispute - after the verdict was announced, his record was read to the court, 40 convictions over 20 years!!
He was a brut of a guy and someone you clearly wouldn't want to mess with.. Most of his convictions were for fighting and affray with a couple of attacks on Police along the way...! He was also in violation of two previous sentances so the judge sent him down for 18 months...
This photo does give you the feeling of a storm moving in. Very nice capture. I will be missing the daily court room sagas, but I am sure you are glad it is over. Have a great weekend.
Wow! It sounds like you ended up with quite an interesting case. Glad he's goin' down for at least 18 months...seems like he should be kept away from civilized society for quite awhile.
Very cool, eerie shot. Aren't you glad that you had good weather while you were free to enjoy it (off of work and after early dismissals from court)?
Extraordinary shot. Your words aid to the feelings the photo arise. The clouds hang heavy and impeding above but the water and the straight line look peaceful.

Sounds like you did a good job on your jury duty. Blimey, 40 convictions in 20 years. That's twice a year! So, now back to work for you. :-)
