Came across this prehistoric art form when I spotted these hand prints in the Greenwich foot tunnel this afternoon.
Beacuse I worked late last night and also have to go in on Saturday, I decided to leave at 3:30 and head to Greenwich to see if there was anything to take. Well, of course there's plenty of great things to take but two things spoilt my photography plans. 1) it was raining and miserable and 2) Johnny Depp was in town filming Pirates of the Caribbean 4 so most of the Maritime museum was off limits.
Hung about for a bit but realised I was surrounded by tourists and school girls so decided to walk back through the tunnel where I saw this ancient art work at about the mid point of the tunnel..
What was funny about taking this was the two figures in the distance, a couple of Japanese tourists walking towards me, would stop and turn their backs everytime I went to take a photo... Not sure if they were checking out what they thought I was taking or just didn't want to star in my photo :-)
hahaha! you just enlightened me so much with your information! i work in greenwich and was wondering what the heck was going on with all those tents and stuff in the uni area and the museum bit! that explains soooo much! apparently i work too much to have any idea about this though! so goes for my colleagues actually mhh
as for this picture! fantastic angle! walked the tunnel only a fair few times. and since i was so taken by the perspective it took my a few seconds to spot the hands! well captured indeed!
Hehehe, those tourists sound like funny characters. xD I love this shot! I love the composition with the walkway off to the side, and the focus on the handprints. Very cool. :)
