Today marked the end of the Durga Puja festival - so me and Sangeeta popped to a celebration in Upton Park (where I took Thursday's photo) to watch the closing moments.
The end is met with a Holi type moment - with ladies painting red colouring on each others faces. Apparently it's only married woman that take part, but on spotting me and Sangeeta, someone decided we looked married and insisted on applying some paint. (To both of us!!!)
This is Sangeeta and some firends from Calcutta - the mother in pink and the daughters in yellow/gold at the end.
In the evening everyone came back to Sangeeta's for a great meal...
So that's my little run of Puja photos over and done with.... I took loads, some much better than the ones I've uploaded but it's getting late so these will do - I will at some point upload others to shutterfly and will add a link when done..
