I thought the transport system had been going too smoothly and sure enough, this morning the snow finally beat the railroad and I couldn't make it into the office.
Shame!!
We say it year after year, but as soon as we have some bad weather, everything falls to pieces... airports shut, trains don't run, people can't get home, roads become impassable, schools close blah, blah, blah.. Utter shambles!!
So instead, I took a walk around the area and took some photos. The snow was really quite deep in places, about a foot deep I'd say.
This old ruin is a short walk from my flat - it's behind a large fence so this is the closest I can get - I used the picnik option acccessed via picasa for the first time... It's a little slow but has plenty of interesting options so I can see myself using it quite a bit. If you haven't had enough snow pics yet... here's a few more http://andycphotos.shutterfly.com/763
Just watching the World Cup venues being selected... No surprise England lost out in 2018 but what the hell is giving the 2022 games to Qatar!! What's that all about...
I have to say that Russia and Qatar are good choices considering neither region - let alone country - has ever hosted the World Cup and the potential growth opportunities... although I probably would have let 2022 go to Australia first!
Nice picture Andy, pity about work bet you were gutted ..
& greed is the answer to the world cup question on Qatar.. At least the Russians wont cut the gas supply for a while now ..lol.. ,
Really, really cool shot, Andy--love it! And yeah. WTF about Qatar--seriously?? Can you say heat stroke? Never mind the other obvious security issues. Nice job FIFA.

You're so lucky that it snows there.
Sorry for Qatar...
