Yep! Just six candles... Nothing special today and after looking around my flat for a snap, couldn't think of anything so took a boring candle shot..
Been transfixed watching the news coming out of Japan, incredible images of destruction following the earthquake earlier today.
Interesting point - a few days ago, someone on this site posted a thread linking to a story about the moon being the brightest in the night sky next weekend due to the moon being the closest to the earth in 20 years..
Buried deep in the article it stated when this happens (every 10 to 20 years) it conincides with a huge natural disaster and that the pull of the moon's gravity was thought to affect tides and tectonic plates and the chances of earthquakes were increased..
We spoke about this in work earlier in the week and wondered whether there was indeed a connection or not.. Seems there is...!
Yes very sad day for the people in Japan. So much loss of life & devastation. I wonder what will happen with the nuclear reactors? Beautiful tribute to the people of the earth that face so much every day.
this shot is hardly boring at all as for the moons appearance on the 19th March when it is at its closest, to earthy I do believe it would have an effect on the earth's magnetiic field ergo more likely to attract natural disasters around this time. Lets hope there are not more to come!
Great focus!
I read that article too and was thinking the same thing yesterday. Hopefully there's no more disasters, I think the world has copped enough.
Just come back to this Andy and read your commentary. Quite fascinating and makes you wonder...'there are more things in heaven and earth...........' Makes one feel so helpless and the scenes are like hell on earth. And here we are worrying about what photo to take.

I love the way the candle in the front is in focus and the group at the back adds to the beauty of this pic.
Must try something like this. If i get it right, you can say it will be an inspiration from this pic!
