Man in Memorial by andycoleborn

Man in Memorial

Attended a national conference today which rather annoyingly for me was held in a hotel just 10 minutes from my office...

So whilst almost everyone there enjoyed a jolly to London and overnight stay, I caught the same train as I do everyday, got of at the same station and just had to walk that little bit further..!

Took this after the conference at the Tower Hill Memorial outside Trinity House - for Merchant Navy and fishing fleets who died during both world wars and have "no grave but the sea".

This is fantastic. The B&W sets up the tones and textures so well. I like the lone figure.

Amazing! Love the sharp contrasts and details. And the symmetry!

Good shot. The man adds to the composition.

You're right about conferences - it seems to be the 'lot' of those of us who worked in London. Everyone else comes to visit.

Love the dreamy feel of this. Great narrative, the downward gaze of the figure lends a somber feel.

Nice processing--hope the next conference will be held in a more exotic location.

Cheers Guys
@rich_t @worldbiking Won't be holding my breathe...The last 7 years it's been in London so that northern folk can come down and enjoy the culture :-)

beautiful image... love how you caught that man looking up, as in wonder... very cool processing too - just a nice tad surreal :)

I learn something every time I see one of your photos. Today's lesson focus: Composition. Thanks!

Nice shot...has a story book feel to it. I somehow keep expecting the buildings to start melting down and the squares on the ground to start warping into different shapes, reminds me of Alice Through the Looking Glass
