The door

Thank you all for taking part of the Roccastrada tour this week and spending time to comment on my images. I hope not to bore you with this old and run down village. There is no bright colour, all a bit dark and dull, the only brightness is created by the sunlight. I am always looking for a glimpse of light to creat interest or maybe even a mysterious feeling in the image.
Wonderful shot of the passageway and the uneven steps - great lighting and textures for black and white

Amazing capture, the tales those stairs could tell! Fabulous light and textures.

@caterina Yes Caterina, I live below Roccastrada in the plains about 5 km away. From my living room I can see the Village. There are several hilltop villages around us, all very small, some better then others. In some of the villages, foreigners have bought houses and restored them nicely. The closer you get to the sea, the nice the villages become. We are at the north end of the Maremma.

Who doesn't like an ascending staircase? Very nice.

Not bored at all ;). You managed to take very atmospheric pictures. Like the worn stairs and the door they lead to.

Lovely shot

The textures, tones and contrast in this shot are all great. Love the composition with that leading line of ancient well-worn stone steps and the mystery of where they end.

love the composition and the textures of the worn steps - all our worlds were far less colourful in the 50s and early 60s. Someone who had their sight restored after being blinded in the 50s was astonished by the change in colour when they saw again in the 80s or 90s
