Finding this piece of street art was a reminder of plans to visit Venice in 2020, postponed until 2021 and then cancelled. The work is by Micah Nagle and is in Mornane Place behind Grossi a Casa, Italian restaurant.
I couldn't fit the whole mural in because of a huge rubbish bin which I tried unsuccessfully to move, much to the amusement of a young couple walking past the entrance to Mornane Place. I wonder what street scene they may have captured and the title they might have given it??
I visited Melbourne in late 2019 ( just before Covid put a halt to travel) and I remember seeing much amazing graffiti art. I recall Hosier Lane in particular. Your photo reminds me of my visit to your wonderful city.
Yes Melbourne does have some wonderful urban art and with the city locked down and incredibly quiet as a result, i have had great opportunities to explore. Today, restrictions are easing and while that is good there may not be so many opportunities soon, although pundits say it will take 10 years for Melbourne to recover from having had the highest total number of locked down days in the world.
As I hope you can tell from my photos I love Melbourne, and have done from when I first came here from the bush in my early working years. I am so glad you liked it, too. Hope to see you back here one day. @cdcook48
