I learned a new word today - love when that happens
The amniotes are a group of tetrapods that have an egg equipped with an amnios, an adaptation to lay eggs on land rather than in water a group that includes turtles, lizards, birds, dinosaurs, and mammals.
Came across it as I was checking out one of my favourite Classes of animals - the reptiles - A reptile is any amniote that is neither a mammal nor a bird.
Another new word to learn-- hope I can remember it if the need comes to use it !! lol --these senior moments !!!!!!! Great image Annie -- full of detailed textures and colour tones !!
Thank you Miss. 365 teaches you so much. Now I have just got to figure out how to fit the word amniote into every day conversation. Interesting photo too by the way.
That's interesting! Never heard that word. I like lizards..I have to small pet crested geckos. (male and female) She won't be laying any eggs though..aminos or not. I have them in two sep. cages.
