where's my lunch?

This croc lives in the Adelaide River and came up to the boat for a bit of a free feed.

When a crocodile loses a tooth, it is quickly replaced. These reptiles can go through 8,000 teeth over a lifetime.
WHOA....hope you weren't his snack. Looks awfully close. Maybe behind glass or a really good zoom? Great detail Annie...almost looks like a smile!

Great shot - reminds me of when we fed crocs in Cairns. The croc kept pinching the dangling meat before either of us could press the shutter!

There are a few teeth there that need a clean, but oh well, just fall out and grow a new one. Great info Annie. I did not know that about crocs before. This a an amazing shot. I hope it was a long lens? Fav!!

See, this is exactly what I am talking about.....I don't understand why and how, we as humans, have not evolved to the point where we can grow new teeth just like we do with nails!! I think it is a conspiracy on the part of the dental association!!
