Crocodiles have the strongest bite of any animal in the world. A crocodile's jaws can apply 5,000 pounds of pressure per square inch. This means that they can bite through an arm or a leg with no problem. A human's jaw only produces 100 pounds of pressure per square inch. The crocodile jaw has very little opening strength, though. For example, a crocodile's mouth can be held shut with a rubber band.
I'll try to remember the rubber band thing if ever I get too up close and personal with one. They are such prehistoric looking creatures, and quite awesome. Great shot of this one.

Your croc pics scare me annie (although I am easily scared) . Stay safe while photographing them. I will remember to have a rubber band in my pocket if I ever come face to face with one :-)
@phil_howcroft don't be scared Phil it is way to cold in the UK for crocs to survive - and if you ever go to Northern Australia call me and I will look after you
Very scary shot this... and now you tell us that this primeval killing machine can't stand a bit of chilly weather - doesn't make me feel any more comfortable about them!
