Ediacara Biota Gallery by annied

Ediacara Biota Gallery

May is going to be about Adelaide in my People and Places album - yes- I am behind - ha ha - what's new?
This week I will be posting photos from the Museum and Art Gallery.

The new gallery at the museum illustrates the story of the evolution of life, based on new field research where our palaeontologists are excavating areas of fossil seafloors and discovering new fossil sites in the Flinders Ranges.
This is part of a wall of ancient seabed on display - it is still being used by paleontologists for further research.
Fascinating stuff Annie... thanks for sharing.

Wonder if Darwin knew about this?! Smile. We just learned a month ago that prehistoric humans lived in California 130,000 years ago. The learning never stops. Would love to see this Adelaide gallery's exhibits.

@golftragic it was Marnie - they have an opal fossil gallery too with spectacular opalised fossils from Coober Pedy and Andamooka in the State's north.
