Locomotive Steam 2029 by annied

Locomotive Steam 2029

Designed by NSWGR, Thow and Beyer Peacock
Built by NSWGR at the Eveleigh Workshops

2029 has heritage significance as one of 21 members of the A/E class built by NSWGR at Eveleigh Workshops in 1911 in response to a shortage of motive power to haul coal trains. Locomotive 2029 is the last member of its class to be withdrawn from service. It demonstrates the motive power for coal traffic and more latterly passenger workings in the outer suburban lines of the Sydney network in the 1950s and 1960s.

2029 is now the last survivor of the Z-20 class.

Great train shots Annie, as we are gp-partners this week I hope it is feasible for you to photograph some railway staff, in uniform if possible. If not let me know and I dream-up something else :)

Great looking train- the power colors (black and red) are quite appropriate for it! Nice collage.
