ash dieback by anniesue

ash dieback

really evident this year - and now the weather is turning, the composite leaf clusters are falling off in droves. I don't know if any will leaf next year.
We have problem here with our national tree the Kauri. Kauri dieback has cause for a lot of the Bush walking areas to be closed to try and stop the speed of the disease. Nice silhouette.

We have ash borer here. The dieback is really bad in some areas.

@kipper1951 @narayani @meotzi it's just one type of tree after another :-(

@anniesue Yes. We have Ash Borers. Asian Longhorned Beetle is damaging many types of hardwoods in this area. There's a threat of Black Walnut Canker looming on the horizon, too.

@meotzi Dutch elm, Larch something-or-other, acute oak decline, juniper fungus ... ...

@anniesue Just found out we have spotted lantern fly here, too. Dutch elm has already claimed most of the American elms. Same for chestnut blight. Disease resistant versions of those two have been developed and the elms are at a point where they are being sold to the public and planted on city streets again. There's hope.

@meotzi let's hope there's time to work on all the breeds 🤞
