While the main road through the Lakes is closed due to having been washed away, the bus from Kendal to Keswick runs up the A6, M6 and across the A66. Went on it today - and took lots of photos. Lots. I don't think I've put my Flickr link in my profile, but in the fullness of time ie when I've finished my Writing homework, I will put the whole thing on.
This looks very familiar Annie-Sue, I can't quite place the exact spot but have seen this view many, many times. Love the composition, how the wall leads your eyes to the snowy fells.
@shirleybankfarm we joined the M6 at Shap at 11.36am and this was taken at 11.37 - if it extended a bit left you could see the limestone burning chimneys
I thought it was somewhere around that area. I use that section of motorway on a regular basis now, it the easiest way for us to go to Penrith now with Eamont Bridge being closed.
I like the wall leading the eye into the picture & then bending as it drops out of sight. Snow in the distance; we haven't had any - yet. Good shooting from a bus too.
