To Candlemas - and beyond?

I rarely want to take my tree down - and sometimes don't. If I move it, it is no longer a Christmas Tree, but a new year's tree. One year I carried it (and its lime green and pink decorations) upstairs, lock, stock and barrel, as I liked it so much. This year I think I'll take the mauve theme off - and add more lights. Very possibly, a lot more lights. Text curated from The Guardian, credits Archie Bland and Alex Mistlin.
This is awesome - thanks for sharing - my silver tree with white lights is still in the bay window - I'm going to turn the lights back on and leave it there until 2/2 ♥

@linnypinny Wonderful!

I've always thought the colorful Christmas lights should be left on through all the dark days of winter. February 8th at least for me but later for those in the higher latitudes where the dark days linger longer.
And I have two Christmas decos that stay out all year because I like them so much.

Now I feel bad for having put mine away! 😅

@narayani I expect you can barely see the lights against that hot summer sun!

@meotzi I feel like a higher latitude! Had toyed with the idea of 12th Feb when Year of the Cow starts.

@anniesue Go for it. Leave them up until that time of the year when darkness falls at an agreeable hour for you.

@meotzi it would (will) be interesting to see when that is
