Hmmm. I'd say spit is probably at an angle to you, so shouldn't be horizontal? But yes I sure have that problem shooting up or down the river ... it is okay for a road to slope as it narrows in perspective, but one expects water to be horizontal ...
@seacreature I'm happier with the spit horizontal - as are the birds on it - otherwise they'd fall off! The rest of the photo will just have to look after itself :)
