@seacreature@narayani not my sharpest shot, but the one that showed him in vocal action. Our robins are sweet - don't know about SA ones - but the Americans have taken the name for something completely different!
@anniesue oh those Americans! 🙄 Our robins have the reddish breast but they’re bigger, have a darker head and honestly, not as cute. I understand they are in a totally different family than your robins.
@anniesue Nah, it was homesick English settlers who named the bird Robin because it reminded them of the English bird. Sort of. It has a red breast and that's about it. Nice to catch your robin in the act of singing.
Such pretty little birds. Our robins are similar but not exactly the same. I love them.
