I don't do positive thoughts, but I've just had one! The sawdust you see is from the cherry tree I've just had cut down. Normally, I have a clematis growing up it, which just about manages, but then gets blasted when the prevailing westerly wind changes to a north-easterly, thus disappointing me in the hordes of wonderful blooms stakes. Well now I don't need to be disappointed any more!.
Ahhh..answered my own question. Your snowdrops and our snowdrops do look the same. Was momentarily confused. And as a bonus, other plants that were shaded from the tree might grow better.
