@salza Beautiful colors, light and shadows, and depth to the painting. It definitely looks three-dimensional

@30pics4jackiesdiamond @jacqbb @grammyn thanks ladies. I debated with myself whether or not to post this as I wasn't really happy with it - it does not look like the one in the tutorial either.

@salza reason it doesn’t look like the one in the tutorial is it wasn’t painted by the person in the tutorial! The person who painted this one did an excellent job

@salza - it looks glossy, however did you do that? aces!

@summerfield Vikki, I have absolutely no idea. The highlight on the left is unpainted (and in my opinion sticks out like a sore thumb). I've also used white watercolour in a few areas to assist with creating highlights. Maybe that's what is creating the glossy effect

@salza Oh... I thought I commented on this one. The thing with that highlight on the left - in my opinion - is that it has too sharp edges. The edges should be just a bit more blurry. That sharp edge is giving the glossy effect: think of the highlight in the eye or in a photo lens. There, it is well defined. The apple, however, is more textured and the edges need to be softer.
i would also soften a bit more the inner edge of the outline.
But otherwise, I think we have to look out for Snow White... in case she reaches for the apple.

The softer highlights where you used the white paint and the shadow are so well done and placed. Also, that part where the stem is... that is so realistically done! The highlight and the transition between the brown and the red is astonishing.
Oh, and one mroe thing: you might want to add a faint shadow beneath the apple, just to anchor it in space.
