Today's shot is a close up of an ordinary grove snail or brown-lipped snail (Latin name is "Cepaea nemoralis", in Danish it's called "Havesnegl") - it's a very common snail here in Denmark, and looking at it made me wonder if all snails spiralled their shells clockwise like this one...
Google to the rescue: No. Snails can spiral their shells both clockwise and counterclockwise, it all depends on the species, but just like humans, molluscs are mostly right handed, so shells spiralling counterclockwise are far more rare... So - challenge for self: Go find a left handed snail :-).
