Gone Postal

One of my favourite authors, Sir Terry Pratchett died recently. 'Going Postal' is one of his Discworld novels, telling the story of how one man got the Ankh-Morpork postal service going again.

This is the central court of the old Post Hall complex in the middle of Oslo, at Prinsens gate 8-10 ('The Prince's Street'), and it's pretty much just like what I imagined what the Postal Office in Ankh-Morpork must look like. It's built 1924 in a style called 'National Barock'. It no longer host any postal services, but has turned into shops and restaurants for people with too much money.

Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC.
It looks a great building. I like the architecture.
Did you ever read "The Last Hero". I havnt but its on my shelf ad I bought it for the illustrations. An especially good one of the disc world on the back of the turtle. However there's nothing like your own imagination for "seeing" the place, sad that TP will write no more stories.

Except for a collection of non-fiction and a few almanacks, I think I've got them all. :-p I have the 2001 edition of "The Last Hero". I also have the graphic novels and all the movies... :-p Yup, I'm a fan...

I read of a last Tiffany Achins book that hasn't been published yet, but I don't know if he ever got to finish it... Yes, it's sad the world lost such genius. Every book he managed to finish after he got sick was a gift indeed.
