Another from my favourite coffee shop. Particularly like this one myself. Good to get something happening with the lady applying a bit of lipstick and the other lady just gazing out probably wondering whit I am doing but not in the least bit bothered.
I'm a big fan of candid shots and pictures that capture personalities and daily life without the subjects. You are great at finding just such picture. This one is wonderful. I wonder if you ever ask before taking a picture or is anyone is upset at having there picture taken.
@vernabeth I never ask as that would ruin the candid moment. People are not natural if they know their photograph is being taken. There is a place for that. I see some great street portraits taken with permission and part of me would like to give it a go sometime but I'm not confident enough to ask. I have only been questioned a couple of times but "did you just take a photograph of me?" But I'm ashamed to say I lied and said no but I did delete the photos. It would be much better to explain that I did and why but again I lack the confidence. I have a tilt screen on my camera so I look down at it and don't bring my camera up to my eye.
Sh3 has a slight smile on her lips...think she enjoying you catching her friend with lipstick to mouth! Wonderful. I’m with you on asking & fibbing....cowards the pair of us!
Wonderful, absolutely! I don't ask either for candid photos, except special occasions, but it's true that the subjects change pose, expression, smile, in one word they ruin the picture. On the contrary I ask permission for taking portraits, that is necessary because the portrait is taken very close to the subject. Only very rarely I've been refused a shot. In general people are flattered to be chosen for a portrait. So find the courage! @happypat
This is an absolute wonderful capture. I also like to take candid photos but I am a bit scared of the legale side. Like you said, asking before ruins the expression. I have a few on my computer but did not post them for that reason.
A FAV!
