Standing his ground

Snakes usually get the heck out of the way when you roll up to them on a mountain bike, but this one didn't seem inclined to go anywhere, so I stopped and took his photo.

I do like snakes! Fascinating creatures. I like this one, who obviously didn't fancy moving. Maybe it was digesting a ginormous lunch of a previous cyclist........
