If you are not familiar with the Raspberry Pi product line, they are a cheap single board computer. This is an older model 2, but it's still quite useful. The newer versions have a better layout and faster processor. Prices start around $30 for a bare circuit board, bring your own case and power supply. It'll run off of an old micro USB phone charger.
I'm trying out some software that will let me use it as a DVR to record broadcast TV shows off of an antenna. Once hooked up to a TV, It'll also provide a pretty front end user interface for playing back those TV shows, or any other kind of media.
