hundreds of cyclists gathered this evening for a memorial ride in honor of the two riders killed last weeked. the route went right in front of my neighborhood, and my husband and son are somewhere in the 'peloton'. hopefully this will encourage the families, and encourage drivers to share the road.
This looks like a united front for sure...it can't help but bolster the families of the cyclists who were killed. That's such a loss and a real shame. It had to be a moving sight to have this big a group pass by.
Funny you should ask... A "Kappa couple" is arriving in town tomorrow for a 3-day visit. They're friends of my long-time, very close Kappa friend, Vera Marine, whose daughter, Julie Leshay was just installed as the current Kappa Nat'l President :-) I've invited them for the evening tomorrow & then I'll find out what their schedule entails. I told you I was still pretty involved!
what a lovely tribute to the cyclists and their families...so tragic :( I like your pciture---colorful!
thank you for the comment on my picture---and for sharing what you will do the glorious day you see Jesus! I liked how you wrote maybe He will run to you!! Awesome!! :) I have never heard of the song (as far as I know--sometimes I dont know the title but know the song!) but will google it today! Thanks for the suggestion!! :)
I am still laughing over "sandwich rescue"...good one Brett! Not lame at all, totally my kind of humor.
This is a very cool shot, awesome composition, with the road and the bikers rolling over the hill. Touching story and tribute.
