booo!! i'm so sorry! i love redbuds, too, especially big, old magnificent ones. very creative way to vent your fury and heartbreak.
hmm ... what's the verdict? do you want zelda mae to come open a can of you know what on them?
ha! laura--that made me laugh!! and i'm fairly certain i've already opened an entire 6pk of you-know-what on them, but tell zelda mae thanks for the offer!!
and thanks, bill!
How I feel for you! I go through agony just having trees pruned back, so this would devastate me...I feel your pain! Your photo is excellent, but I don't know that I could photograph the end tale as bravely as you did. Such a sad story!
This is horrible !!! You would think that a tree service would 1. value trees; 2. be able to tell the difference between dead and alive; 3. get clear directions BEFORE they start cutting down trees.
I take it that you have made this into a "lesson" for them that they will not soon forget.

crystal--i think we both already know about your character...
jessica--thanks!
Shame that a beautiful tree was sacrificed to leave such a lovely reminder.
Nice picture though
but as usual you took those lemons and made lemonade!

BUT you did capture some lovely patterns and color that it kept hidden within.
