Aw, what a good dog. Ours do the same. I love the feel of this photo.
Re: He takes good photos! I love looking at photos that kids take. (:
My girls always surprise me what they chose to say and post.
Oh...this looks so familiar! I have a basset hound and a rat terrier that love to sit and look out the windows! Yep, we are definitely dog people at my house!! A nice moment to preserve...
Must be the day for pet shots :-)
I really love the look and feel of this shot - it oozes character, Brett. You have taken a lovely shot.
Re the cycling... :-( unfortunately I have been unwell for a couple of weeks with some sort of virus (you know the story, well enough to go to work, but too sick to do anything else..). Only yesterday did I get back on the bike and I felt I had a bit more strength. I've got a 100km ride in October so that is the next goal. I'd like to average > 25kph, but that might be pushing it : } Thanks for asking; really appreciate it.
That's a marvelous photo, such good light and composition, not to mention an endearing image! And I'm *totally* in tune with what you wrote! I'd guess that 90%-or-more of my photos on 365 are the day's events, and from the time I first took up a camera, it's the way I view the world. I've often had that discussion, that I might be "missing something" while looking through a lens, but to me, it focuses what I choose to see. Just this afternoon, visiting friends, we're out front talking, saying good-bye, and I see Mike in the most wonderful, casual pose, so I captured it and love that I have the memory of it. Everyone I know *knows* that my camera and I are inseperable. I may not be one of the more skilled photographers, but I love the record of my days, and that record reaches back to my pre-teens! It's the way I journal. You're going to have such a wonderful record, too...you'll refer back to it for the rest of your life!
And all along I thought Charley was a squirrel ... where did I get that idea? :) Great shot Brett, the lighting, the composition, capturing Charley's longing and anticipation, very very nice! And congrats on making top 20. Looks like Charley is becoming one of your top models.

Also, I love that quote! Ogden Nash, that name rings a bell... He wrote a poem that I really loved. It's called...
'To my fish'
Wet.
Pet.
:D
