Rainforest in the mist

Mt Spec north of Townsville. I wanted to revisit a beautiful lookout I've been to before, took a wrong turn and ended up hiking two kilometres further than we needed to only to find no view today because of the mist.

How has Paluma recovered after Yasi? It got smacked around a bit back then.

@bobfoto We went up after Yasi and you could really see the effects of the cyclone but it looked great this time, not noticeable at all to us.

@bella_ss - good to hear. Half the birdlife of Paluma sought refuge in my garden in Townsville after Yasi.

Great to hear the area has recovered from Yasi. Disappointing for you that it was such a misty day but you have still ended up with a nice shot.

@bobfoto I can believe that! We saw plenty of pretty and very cheeky birds while there including the king parrot but all I caught on camera was a red streak.

I would never have associated this pic with Australia - more Costa Rica in my mind. A wonderful feel of misty, humid rainforest. Must visit that wonderful country of yours one day - it has so much to offer.
