I tried some focus stacking here although I probably didn't need it. I used a tripod and f/22 so the waterlily was quite sharp all the way through anyway.
@swilde This is the first time I've tried it Sue, I just googled and found a tutorial, lol. Thanks for your lovely comments :)
@lyndemc I'm glad you've given us your name because I often want to use it when I'm commenting but wonder if it's the right name :) I always love reading your comments, I often wonder how you find something unique to say because I rarely can.
@heesc Thanks for that lovely comment Hee, you are the king when it comes to flower shots and particularly waterlilies.
@timandelke Photoshop Elements does most things that the full version does and is only about the same price as Lightroom. You can find a tutorial for just about anything these days.
I have Elements and find it very difficult to wrap my brain around. LR is so much more intuitive, so that's what I use. I may have to get over my frustration and give PS another try.
@timandelke I have used Photoshop for many years and found LR a bit frustrating when I first started using it, lol. I think it's just what you are used to and need to spend time using the other program. The tutorials are quite good, good luck with it :)
This is a wonderful image Sheralee, almost 3d and so clear. Works perfectly with the white background. Really must try the whole stacking images thing! Fav.
@espyetta Lol, thanks MaryBeth, I set up lighting behind the flower, it was quite strong because it has blown out some of the petals.
@paulaw The stacking was really easy, I followed a tutorial but with this subject I probably didn't need it. It would be more effective with a true macro shot.

How did you get that light like that?
