Kingfisher and Wasp

This beautiful kingfisher was kind enough to pose on my prop tree. I love that I caught the wasp flying around as well, he looks kinda comical with his little legs sticking out.

Thanks so much for your concern about Cyclone Ita, people further north have been affected more seriously but Townsville was relatively unscathed other than the inconvenience and clean up.
A really super capture.

Sheralee, I'm so sorry to be late! I ended up helping someone with a school essay, and then I forgot to take my laptop to work today! My challenge is for you to shoot something in your home that would tell us something we don't know about you :-)

@m9f9l No trouble at all Mary, I know how busy you must be. Thank you :)

Great capture -- an unusual bird to have caught and I think it tells a story the way its staring at the wasp.

Great shot! Love the almost negative space (except for the little dancing wasp!)

A wonderful capture of this kingfisher and the wasp together! He's sure got his eye on that wasp, probably wondering whether eating it will give him a nasty sting! So glad to hear ok as well! x

Remarkable timely capture. His beak is pointing right at the wasp! I like the negative space and the kingfisher's colors are just beautiful. Fav!

What a capture! The Kingfisher alone would've made my day but to also have a flying insect included is like icing on the cake. The high-key appearance and the unobstructed background made for a very sharp photo.

What a moment to capture! That is so cool. That Kingfisher is so beautiful and the wasp looks comical.
