Garden Club traffic island planting

Our house is in the background.
Your house is how I imagine non-city US houses to be.

That's not you over there, is it?! That is a beautifully maintained traffic island...where are you located? That is a wonderfully romantic house nestled against those woods!

@lifeat60degrees Buildy in 1893 as a summer cottage for a US Civil war surgeon and family. My maternal grandparents bought it in 1928 from the son of the original owner. They added heat and indoor plumbing. I grew up next door on land that my grandparents gave my mother when she married my brother. I inherited the pictured house and have live here since 1978. My brother lives on land also given by my grandmother when he married, through the woods we still own that came with the original property.

@panthora Yes, that's me in the orange vest, the traffic is a bit scary around teh island. I'm in a Garden Club that does the traffic islands in town as part of our beautification projects. We live(in the house in the background), in Massachusetts, south of Boston.

@berelaxed Thanks for the info.....good to know where you are....Boston is one of my favorite cities.....there was a time when I thought I would settle down there, but now that is a distant memory! Especially after the kind of winter you have had... :-(( My husband's oldest son lives in Framingham, MA...
