Merry received a package today from our friends, DDW and Mr. W. It needed a bit of charging to perfect it's flipping and then it was ready to go, all set to perform for Merry. She was so very curious, she screwed up all her cat courage and approached cautiously and watched it intently. It's an absolute riot, it flips like a fish out of water and then lies still till you poke it again. She hasn't gotten to the poking stage yet, but she has had fun already. It was so much fun to see her unable to resist getting closer and closer.
I made our cranberry sauce, boiled and mashed the butternut squash and my mother's mushroom casserole today, Tomorrow I'll make the herbed bread stuffing (or dressing as my family always called it) for the little Cornish Hen I'll roast and the peas and potatoes. We'll eat together and be thankful for all we have and our continued good health. The weather looks grim, so it will be a raincoat clad drive to Sarah & David's instead of a walk through the woods to peek in the door at the rest of my family and Nora & Hunty. We'll do Zoom or FaceTime calls with T's family. We're already planning patio parties with social distancing before the snow flies to be able to see people closer.
