April weekend fun by berelaxed

April weekend fun

We did some shopping, some gawking and some chomping. On Saturday we went to a garden shop in Cohasset that has so much inventory that I don't imagine they know what they really have. Cement urns, pots of all types, garden ornaments, trees, plants, gifts, soils, seeds and animal and insect repellant sprays all higgelty piggelty about. We needed some rabbit repellent spray and as always, had fun poking around. Outside, we fell in love with a Four Seasons Green Man urn, we hemmed and hawed, paid for the few things we bought and then went to look at it again. We consulted our iPhones and discovered that it was lots cheaper at this shop than anywhere online. You can see that it's now happily sitting on our patio wall. We plan to plant ivy and lavender in it for the summer.

Now for the gawking. We drove about an hour south to Great Hill Dairy Farm in Marion, Massachusetts in cranberry bog country to see Highland Cows close up. I was thrilled that they were so close to the road and fence. I got a great close up look and some quick iPhone snaps for more photo references for the painting I'm doing for Hunter. They were so gorgeous and huge.

It just so happens that the town of Marion is very close to Wareham, by the Cape Cod Canal. Wareham is the location you may remember of our favorite fried lobster restaurant. We had packed our 'eat in the car picnic bag', so we were all set and totally enjoyed our fried lobster lunch. The ride home was sunny, passing more cranberry bogs and so many blooming daffodils and trees. Ah, spring.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny with a chill, but still lovely.

All hands happy.
