Hurricane Ida is making her way towards us with lots of rain. The heaviest rain with some flash flood warnings will be this evening. We've had on and off showers since late morning and it's humid and gloomy. Not much bird or beastie activity today, perhaps they are securing their rowboats and water-wings. I'm not worried about an actual flood here, but 5-6 inches of rain after the outrageously wet summer is unbelievable. It's been the wettest, most humid and generally disagreeable weather-wise summer of my 7decade memory.

Usually, when I am outside all I hear is the birds complaining because I make them nervous to come to the feeder but they were very quiet today here too. Hopefully we just get lots of rain.
