The day after by berelaxed

The day after

I'm sporting battery operated calf compression devices when I'm not crutching about or spinning around in my walker. Full weight bearing after surgery a bit longer than 24 hours after surgery! I had PT today and a good deal of pain. The surgeon called last night and warned me that the next few days will be painful as the spinal wears off and the injected pain meds. I had a call from a surgical nurse today saying the same thing. I'm keeping ahead of the pain after a painful morning. T is a wonderful nurse and Merry hates the crutches and walker. I have managed the old stair here to the bedroom with my crutches, easier up than down. My thigh is very swollen and an impressive bit of bruising is blooming.

Here are some details about the surgical experience in Salem, NH. at the North Atlantic Surgical Suites. It was all they claimed it would be. I had two calamities, the first, difficulty finding a spot for the spinal injection because of my spinal arthritis. My lower back looks like a pincushion. that was unpleasant I now have the honor of having the most difficult spine. I also have very small bones ,(although very strong the surgeon said), BUT, because of the small femur bone they slightly fractured the top of my freshly cut femur when they inserted the post for the new hip appliance. They had to repair it with special mesh that will encourage the femur bone to grow around it and make it stronger than even before. That unfortunately made the surgery longer and the incision much longer also than expected. T was worried, but we were home by 3:30, arriving there at 6:15 in the morning. The fracture should not impede the healing, but perhaps make it a tiny bit longer. I have very small feet, but in this photo they look huge!! I'm very tired, poor sleep before and last night, but I had a lovely nap this afternoon.

For the Record,
This day came in windy and warm

All hands begging for PEACE
wishing you swift healing

Wow, what challenges you've been through and a few more to come sounds like. Hoping it all improves quickly and more to plan.

Wishing you to be pain-free soon. There is a forced perception photo where you put the camera close to the feet and they look huge. So tell people it is forced perception.

Very interesting to hear the details. Hopefully, it's soon no pain.
