Scallops

My sister sent my youngest son a huge box of all sorts of shells last week. I sorted through them and found a handful of scallop shells that had a variety of colors that looked darker in real life than the camera captured them. I edited it first in my cellphone to adjust the crop a bit and then went into Photoshop. I know that it's a trifle off center, but I'm very happy with the final outcome. Initially I brought up the whites a fair bit, but the high key made the image look flat and emotionless, so I went with this more moody view. I can't wait to play with the various spiral shells and directional light. This was natural lighting through my north-facing picture window. I couldn't have asked for better.
berni this is beautiful art, thanks for the follow, i've followed you back

@phil_howcroft Thank you, Phil! I used to collect shells in my youth and I'm looking forward to helping my son identify the different shells that he received. There will be more pictures as we go through the box in more detail. :-)
