The Severn starts in the Plymlimon Range of mountains in Powys, Mid Wales , meanders its way through Shropshire & beyond to emerge into the sea @ Bristol . Here it looks very peaceful but on frequent occasions during the wet weather it is prone to flood its banks on its journey through Shrops, Hereford & Worcester.
