This is the famous Iron bridge in Ironbridge near Coalbrookdale in Shropshire The Ironbridge crosses the river Severn in Shropshire It was the 1st arch bridge in the world to be made of cast iron -a material too expensive until a new local blast furnace in Coalbrookdale lowered the cost & enabled a bridge to be constructed & solve the problem of crossing over the river .
Construction started in1775 & completed in 1779.
Was opened 01-01-1781.
The architects were Abraham Darby 111 & Thomas Farnolls Prichard
Total length-60m
Longest span-30.5m
Clearence below-18m
Now it is for pedestrians only

@carolb Yes Carol -David Austin is a local Rose grower I love his double ,cabbage- like old fashioned blooms & always so heavily scented --heavenly !
